When to call your midwife urgently - during pregnancy
If you have any vaginal bleeding or you have concerns about your baby’s movements:
After 28 weeks if you have concerns about your baby’s movements: your baby is not moving as frequently as normal or has had a change in the normal pattern
If you have a severe headache that does not go away with panadol, fluids and/or rest; blurred vision-flashing lights or spots in front of your eyes; sudden extreme swelling in your face, hands and feet, bad pain just below your ribs particularly on the right side
If you have severe itching that centres on the soles of your feet and the palms of your hands
If you are experiencing regular, painful abdominal tightenings that could be contractions, especially if accompanied by a change in vaginal discharge
If you experience an unusual increase in fluid leaking vaginally
If you have regular contractions that may feel like labour prior to 37 weeks.
